Richard Law Award 2017 for Indian Dental Students
In honour of the late Richard Law, an accountant who tragically died from oral cancer, the Global Child Dental Fund (UK) is offering an award of GBP 250 (Approximately Rs 25000) to dental students in India willing to enter an essay competition and take up an Advanced Dental Leadership Certificate Training.

Submission of essay
Essay Requirements
- Word limit 3000 words (excluding references)
- Referencing style: Harvard (Author- Year)
To be included in submission:

Covering letter signed by the Dean/ Principal of the college.

Title page: Title of the essay, name of the author/s, name of the institute, contact details (address, telephone no. and email address of the first author).

Essay: MS Word document, Arial Font, Size 12, double spacing

Assessment
The best 3 essays will be given certificates and there shall be one award winner in each category receiving a prize of Rs 25000. There will be two runner-ups in each category who will receive certificates.
The essays will be assessed for novelty of ideas, language, presentation, referencing and overall quality. There can be more than one author, but only the first author will be considered for the award. Judges' decision shall be final. Individual feedback to unsuccessful applicants shall not be provided. Results will be announced by 1st January 2018.
The opening date is 1st June 2017 and the closing date is 30th September 2017.

ADL training is internationally accredited by World Federation of Public Health Associations and provides a certificate on completing each of the 4 levels.

ADL imparts skills beyond that routinely taught in dental schools.

ADL certificate strengthens the CV, which can escalate the chances of making a successful application for further education or jobs. Upon completion of the course students will receive a certificate and be able to use the CADL (Certificate of Advanced Dental Leadership) letters after their professional title.

Taking up the ADL is a contribution to the Global Child Dental Fund’s Mission that the most disadvantaged children, from the most deprived communities around the world, have access to dental care and do not suffer from obvious dental decay in their lifetime.
