Dr Wei Zhang
Wei Zhang, D. M.D. (M.B.), graduated in 1986 from School of Stomatology, Peking University in China, specialized in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After graduated, he has been engaged in clinical work, teaching and research work on dental and alveolar surgery. He is currently associate dean in charge of clinical affairs, professor and vice chairman in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department, in the Peking University School of Stomatology.
As for clinical work, Dr Zhang have worked in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 1986, as the resident from 1986 to 1991, as the attending doctor from 1991 to 1997, as associate professor from 1997 to 2006, as professor from 2006. He was head of Department of Oral Surgery from 1996 to 2010 and was appointed as vice chairman of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1998.
Dr Zhang is responsible for teaching of curriculum of dental and alveolar surgery for the undergraduate and postgraduate student, and for continuing education.
He began to participate the work of clinical pharmacological practice, and attended two GCP training courses in 2000 and 2005. He acted as PI to be responsible seven clinical trials about new drugs and dental instruments. He is responsible for section of oral and maxillofacial surgery of clinical trial base of Peking university school of stomatology.
Dr Zhang focuses on Impacted tooth extraction, pain control in alveolar surgical treatments, drug clinical trials, and has extensive clinical experience. He edited dozens of books for professional teaching, especially the part of the tooth and alveolar surgery.
