Dr. Suchit Poolthong is an Assistant Professor from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand where he is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry. He holds positions in The Dental Board of Trustees of the Dental Council of Thailand; Board of Directors and Scientific Committee of the Dental Association of Thailand; the Thai Operative Dentistry Society where he is currently Vice President; and the ASEAN Joint Coordinating Committee on Dental Practitioners where he is currently the Chairman. Dr Poolthong graduated with a DDS degree in 1983 from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. He then received further training finishing Grad Dip (Clinical Sciences in Operative Dentistry) in 1989 from Chulalongkorn University, followed by an MSc (Dental Materials) in 1996 and a PhD (Dental Material Science) in 1998 from the University of Sydney, Australia. His publications have centred on Dental Material science and in recent times he has lectured extensively in Asia on Minimum Intervention Dentistry and the prevention of caries.  As he is a committee of the Dental Council of Thailand, he is involved with national policies and oral health strategic planning.
