Dr Heriberto Vera Hermosillo
Heriberto Vera Hermosillo was the Chief Dental Officer of National Oral Health Program of the Ministry of Health, Mexico from May 2000 to April 2010. He was responsible for the development of the Oral Health Program 2000 - 2006 and 2007 - 2012 of the Ministry of Health, Mexico.
Graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry of UNAM (National University of México) in 1978 he is currently a member of the advisory group to the Office of Oral Health of the Pan American Health Organization, based in Washington D.C and member of the advisory group of the FDI, WHO and IADR fluorides. Heriberto is also the Medical Services Coordinator of Clinical Dentistry ISSSTE and Head of the west delegation of dentistry of ISSSTE.
Over his years in dentistry he has written several articles and papers on the situation of dental caries and ART treatments in Mexico.
He is a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International, the International College of Dentists Mexican chapter, and the Pierre Fouchard Academy.
He was also President of the organising committee of The Oral Health Workshop for the Region of the Americas. Mexico City, 23-25 April, 2009.
