Dr Ben Keith
Dr Ben Keith is the Course Coordinator of dentistry at La Trobe University Department of Dentistry and Oral Health. In this role he has overseen the development of the curriculum and the accreditation process of the course with the Australian Dental Council. He coordinates and teaches into the areas of general medicine for dental students and advanced clinical procedures for oral health therapists. He is also a member of the executive team of the department.
Dr Keith graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1997 and spent time working as a clinician in both Australia and the United Kingdom. He completed a Master of Public Health in 2007 and is currently undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy. Dr Keith set up a program in Myanmar in 2005 providing oral health care to an area in the region of Nyaungshwe and successfully developed a partnership with a local NGO to fund and build a dental clinic for the community. He is a Council member for the Victorian branch of the Australian Dental Association, a tribunal member at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, an examiner for the Australian Dental Council and a clinician at Rumbalara, a rural Aboriginal Australian community clinic.
When not working Dr Keith flies planes, rides motorbikes and horses, skis and cooks!
